Privacy Policy
Draft — not yet in force1. In short
The App talks only to the ZAM POS till it is paired with, on your local network. It sends nothing to Techween and keeps no record of payments. Your business is responsible for the device it runs on.
2. What data the App handles
2.1 Stored on the device
In the device's secure storage: a secret the App creates to sign its pairing token; the token issued to the paired till and when it expires; and the details the till sent about your business and the till (business name and identifier, contact email and phone, till name and identifier, logo address, colours, and currency and time zone). Disconnecting erases the token and those details.
2.2 Held only on screen
Each payment the till sends — amount, reference, note, request and expiry times, and after approval the authorization code, the time and the customer's display name supplied by their bank — is held in the App's memory while it is on screen and is never written to the device.
2.3 On your local network
- The App answers the paired till over your local network, without encryption.
- It announces itself on that network so that tills can find it, and answers anyone on the network who asks whether it is paired, with your business name and the till identifier.
- While a payment code is on screen it plays the payment reference as an inaudible sound, which phones nearby can pick up. The sound carries the payment reference only.
2.4 On the internet
The only request the App makes to the internet is to download your business's logo from the address the till sends.
2.5 What the App does not collect
No location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, advertising identifier, analytics or crash reports. The only permission the App asks for is access to the local network.
3. Who is responsible
Your business decides where the App runs and what the till sends to it, and is responsible for the data on the device. Customers' payment data belongs to their bank and the merchant's bank, under their own privacy notices; Techween receives none of it through this App.
4. Your rights and contact
Questions about the App go to Techween at support@techween.net. Questions about a payment go to the business or to the customer's bank. You may complain to the Communication and Information Technology Regulatory Authority (CITRA) or the Central Bank of Kuwait.
5. Changes to this Policy
We will publish changes in the App and on techween.net, and ask again in the App before a change that matters takes effect.
